It’s perched right along the Devil’s Backbone—arguably the most scenic drive in all of Texas—and the views here are the real deal. Because Rinco of Texas started developing this back in the 80s, you get this cool architectural timeline. You’ll see a classic limestone ranch from the 90s sitting right down the street from a brand-new Hill Country Modern with floor-to-ceiling glass. It’s got a relaxed, unpretentious vibe. People here value their space; with lots starting at half an acre and many hitting that 1.4-acre mark, you aren't staring into your neighbor's kitchen. You’ve got a mix of retirees who moved here for the peace and quiet, and a growing number of families who want their kids in Comal ISD but don't want the New Braunfels traffic. You’re about 15 minutes from the Wimberley Square for a steak and a glass of wine, and maybe 20 minutes from the boat ramps at Canyon Lake. Just a heads up: you’re going to want a reliable vehicle and a love for the open road. It’s about an hour into downtown San Antonio, so it’s perfect for the remote worker or the hybrid professional, but a daily commute to the city center is a bit of a trek.
